CES School Counselor
Hello Carver Cubs!
I am excited to return as your 2023-24 School Counselor. My husband and I recently relocated to the Raleigh area from Northeast Tennessee. I graduated from East Tennessee State University in 2005 and have 13 years of school counseling experience. At this time, I am pursuing my Ed.D at Liberty University with the hope of supporting other school counselors in the future. Although students are my main focus, I also prioritize relationships with teachers, caregivers, and community members. I look forward to another great year!
Roles & Responsibilities
of a School Counselor
The American School Counseling Association defines school counselors as certified/licensed educators who improve student success for ALL students by implementing a comprehensive school counseling program. Carver's school counseling program follows Wake County guidelines and the American School Counseling Model. Among the services offered are classroom guidance lessons designed to address broad developmental topics (self-esteem, social skills, problem-solving skills, career awareness, etc).

All students can learn from counseling activities and can benefit from active participation.
Short-Term Behavioral Health Support.
